Massachusetts County RSAT Collaborative

 

The Massachusetts County Correctional Facility RSAT Consortium was created because of the uniformly high quality of each of the county’s RSAT  program. The Sheriffs’ programs provide  evidence-based programming, high rates of graduation, and innovative use of medication assisted treatment, which enables inmates to receive an injection prior to discharge that blocks the craving for opioids and alcohol immediately upon release for 30 days. Nationally, re-entering inmates are at greatest risk for death from drug overdoses within the first two weeks after release. Studies also document that immediate relapse upon release invariably results in subsequent re-incarceration for new offending.  The Massachusetts host site will be held in the Barnstable County Correctional Facility located in Bourne, Massachusetts.
