Daniel Ryan

Daniel Ryan is a former Chief Probation Officer from the Office of the Massachusetts Commissioner of Probation. Before his retirement after 32 years of service, he spent the last seventeen years as the Department’s training officer, concentrating mostly on substance abuse, motivational interviewing and related areas. As a line officer, he supervised a specialized substance abuser case load, receiving his early training at Yale Medical School’s pioneering Drug Dependence Institute. He has served on numerous boards for various adult and adolescent counseling agencies and programs as well as Massachusetts’ Supreme Judicial Court Committee which developed the Standards on Substance Abuse for the Massachusetts Trial Court.
